Chris Terroni piano technician
Chris’ career started at Steinway London where he completed an eight year apprenticeship.
The following 2 years were spent working from the Steinway London rebuild centre and serving as an outside technician/tuner. This involved not only annual service work for music institutions such as The Royal Northern College of Music, The Royal Scottish Academy of Music, Birmingham Conservatoire, London College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trinity College of Music & Queens University Belfast, but also work for Steinway Artists, including assisting in maintenance of Steinway London concert fleet. He has also worked in nearly all the major concert Halls within the U.K.
Subsequently he worked on a freelance basis subcontracting to Steinway and the Steinway agent in Cambridge and working privately for artists and venues.
Chris was also fortunate to spend time working along side Peter Salisbury and later worked as workshop manager for him at Bechstein service centre at this time he also attended seminar coaching sessions with a concert technician from Bechstein Germany.
Chris has completed the training course at Steinway’s Hamburg factory.
Chris is currently based in Cork, Ireland at the Cork School of Music. Where he is responsible for maintaining their 90 odd Pianos including 55 Steinway Model B Grands and 3 model D concert Grands.
